Provisional dismissal of criminal proceedings

A provisional closing of criminal proceedings on statutory grounds, such as insufficient evidence of the offence or grounds to accuse an identified person.

What to bear in mind

Reopening may be possible if relevant evidence emerges and no legal bar applies. It differs from a final dismissal.
