Division of an estate

The operations identifying and allocating each beneficiary's entitlement to assets or rights in an estate.

What to bear in mind

Assets, debts and shares must be identified. Different routes are available; unilateral occupation of an asset does not resolve a dispute.

Preparing for your consultation

Gather the will or testamentary records, kinship documents and a list of assets and debts. Applicable law may vary because of regional civil-law affiliation (vecindad civil) or international elements.
