Disinheritance

Exclusion of a protected heir from their reserved share by will on a legally recognised ground.

What to bear in mind

Personal preference or a family disagreement alone is insufficient. The ground must be stated and, if challenged, may need to be proved.

Preparing for your consultation

Gather the will or testamentary records, kinship documents and a list of assets and debts. Applicable law may vary because of regional civil-law affiliation (vecindad civil) or international elements.
