Declaration of intestate heirs

A procedure identifying those legally entitled to inherit where intestate succession applies.

What to bear in mind

It is not acceptance or distribution of the estate. Death, testamentary records and kinship usually need to be evidenced before the competent notary.

Preparing for your consultation

Gather the will or testamentary records, kinship documents and a list of assets and debts. Applicable law may vary because of regional civil-law affiliation (vecindad civil) or international elements.
